Something needs to change. I need to change something in my life, but I have zero energy. There's all this I want to do, but I never really get around doing it, because I know I will do a hack job of it.
I want to get back into programming, I want to update my blogger and tumblr look and layout, I want to study, translate stuff but...all I want to do is marathon Grey's Anatomy (only yesterday did I learn about the pun in the title :D) and Battlestar Galactica.
Anyway, I just thought I'd post about silver shampoo's that are available in this part of Europe, because I had some problems finding half decent stuff that didn't cost me a fortune.
So in the beginning of the week I went to DM and by chance found Balea's Silber Glanz Shampoo.
I was quite disappointed by this shampoo I have to say. It's almost opaque, there's barely any colour in it, it's also drying and there is no visible result. It was just over 1€ so I won't be crying over money lost.
So a few day s later I was walking around Muller in Ljubljana and I saw silver shampoo and conditioner by Swiss-o-par. This time I first went home and checked for reviews, which were positive so the next day I got it!
I spent almost 7€ on both and this time it was money well spent. My tips and the hair at the top of my head are now, after just one wash, a lovely silvery shade. The mid part of my hair still won't budge, so I'll have to bleach it again...
This shampoo and conditioner are also not too drying, but I will still only use them from time to time and after I use up the conditioner I probably won't be purchasing it again but not because it's a bad conditioner, but because I already have a conditioner that I love more.
Just for a comparison, never mind the bad handwriting and the misspelled word |
I've been wanting to dye my hair a lilac-ish colour for probably 2 years now, but decided to wait untill I come back from China. Well in these 2 years, my hair grew out, so I was back to "virgin hair" :D
Anyway, after 2 months of wanting and then again not wanting to sacrifice my healthy long hair for damaged but pastel purple hair, my boyfriend helped me decide to finally dye it!
So I went with my all time favourite Pinkissimo from Crazy Color and a shade from CC I've never used before, Hot Purple. I got Hot Purple because it's a blue based purple and I planned on mixing it with some pink to give it a little warmer undertone. Looking at the red based purple, I thought it looked to warm for my liking. And not to mention, it's simply a gorgeous shade of purple!
BIG MISTAKE!
Actually I made a few mistakes. I didn't tone my hair enough, and the middle part of my hair was still a bit yellow-ish when I first dyed it, but I saw people put dye on hair the had more yellow in it than mine had so I though whatever, I can do it as well.
Well the first time I dyed it, only the tips and the roots took the dye, the middle part of the hair went a nice white/silver color. So I dyed it again, same thing.
Then I tried bleaching it because I believed my hair was not porous enough.
And the strands I put bleach on turned MINT GREEN!
Before, when I used blue yes from CC I could simply bleach it out, not green, so...I was not happy :/
2 weeks after this, H&S shampoo took most of the green out and I'm mixing Pinkissimo with my leftover Direction's Plum to hide the green.
So this is what my hair currently looks like, the mid part only takes a bit of pink, and the rest of the hair hold the colour really well. I mean, it looks really interesting, and there are so many shades of purples and blues mixed in, but it's not what I wanted.
So if anybody knows why my hair grabs dye so unevenly, please tell me!
TL;DR
Don't put bleach over CC Hot Purple (even tho it's an awesome colour ;_;)
Warm-toned purple and Pinkissimo look nice together.

So as the title says, I got the "good girl bad girl" eyeshadow from Essence's new TE. When I walked into Mueller today I only wanted to spend some time while waitnig for the bus and not spend money, but alas, I left a few € there.
The only thing that really caught my eye from the new TE was this eyeshadow in 01, called Hello Sweetheart. The colours are so pretty! A nice cream colored shadow, a coppery looking one, very similar to the one in the Hello Autumn palette, a baby pink and a silvery colour, which I think looks a bit more blue than silver once applied. But hey, let the photos talk :)
Another thing from this edition that caught my eye, or should I say nose, is the Bad girl eau de toilette and the nail polishes, so many pretty colours but that will have to wait until Monday.

No primer |
With Etude House's primer |
and after you loose hope of getting it back before your face completely dries up and you lose that one tiny bit of confidence you have left to leave the house without make-up, you walk to the nearest dm in this city and buy some basic supplies.
I must admit I was a bit lost once I entered the store. Not so much because I haven't been there in a long time, but because I usually just stock on Korean make-up and that's it. I've never bought a BB cream other than from Missha and Lioele so I was a bit lost there and I also forgot to check out the reviews for different brands. Smart shopping.
Anyways so now, instead of doing a massive Missha products review, I'll be hopefully not to slowly start reviewing a few of the products I bought today. And hopefully they will not disappoint me.
So the products I'll be reviewing are Maybelline's Dream Fresh BB cream, Fine and Prime Anti-Red Base from Catrice, Alverde's Camomile night cream for sensitive skin, Alverde's Vital Passion Fruit Eye Cream and Alverde's eye make-up primer.

Countinuing from post pt. 1 is just a click away! ;)
Lets be honest here, one thing I love is hair; fake, real, natural colour, dyed, you name it. I would've probably became a hairdresser if I wouldn't grow up in a household where being a hairdresser is not the job you'd advise your kid to get/study for.
Up until 2 years ago I always believed wigs are for lazy people, it's hair, put some effort in it! But then, my hair was becoming weak from all the dying, I was becoming sick of having it dyed every 6-8 weeks and sometimes, especially when my hair was dyed an unnatural colour, I just wanted to have a rest from all the stares and at the same time be able to attend school when my real hair was pink, but not visible to the teachers.
Yes I know the last part of the previous paragraph might not be the best way of thinking but that's just how it is for me. Small town, small country :/

I had this spree planned in June already
but something went wrong and in June I couldn’t have stuffed shippend from
Korea to China so I had to hope for Missha to have a sale in time for me to get
my order here in July. Luckily this was exactly what happened and my package
was here 8 days after I made the payment.
I wanted to use the final opportunity to
ship my order to China because a.) shipping is much cheaper and b.) because for some reason I never have
to pay the customs here.
This time I bought a bunch of stuff from
Missha (pretty much my favourite brand, even tho they can get pricy sometimes,
especially when you’re buying from abroad) and Mizon (I love their Snail
Recovery Gel so much).
The best feeling in the world; just before you open the box :D |
This time's haul from Missha |
I’ve been frequenting Gmarket at least once
a year, even twice if my financial situation allows for it for about 3 years
now. I usually go for Etude House, Missha and Mizon products both for the
prices and for the quality, even though Missha does use too many parabens for
my taste.
I adore the cute packaging Etude House
products have and also the fact the make good quality make up products,
especially their eye shadow primer, unbelievably good ( good as the one from
E.L.F. I highly recommend either of them). Could not do my make up without it,
because you know, extremely oily lids :/ One thing I always wanted to do in my
early high school years was eye make-up, but I could never make it stay even
for 2 hours so I never tried…but then again, it’s probably for the best, gave
me the 2 years I needed to improve my make-up skills in the privacy of my room
and not show my lack of experience to the rest of the world ;)
What I really like about Missha products is
how the product packaging looks. Let’s be honest, it’s the packaging that first
gets the attention (and then after you see the ingredients, well sometimes you
just put it back on the shelf). Anyway, Missha has the nice, sophisticated
looking products and lately that’s just the look I like going for. I first
heard about them I think 5 or even 6 years ago when the BB cream boom in Asia
was starting (has already started) and since then I’ve been using their Perfect
Cover BB Cream, recommending it to my friends and always coming back to it no
matter which other BB cream I tried.
For Mizon, I only heard about them about a
year and a half ago, Gmarket probably just started promoting them more and
after that I noticed their snail secretion (or whatever, this sounds really disgusting
haha :D) and bam, feel in love with their products as well :)
Just follow the sales lady, seriously, those girls should know what kind of stuff you need, given they live here.
No but seriously, that's how I usually get stuff, I trust them completely and get what they recommend me. Except if it's one of the girls that work for brands that have separate counters inside the store, I just politely thank them for their help and tell them I'm interested in something cheaper, but to those who can afford it, go for it!
Anyway, this is how I was spared the bothersome phase where you're looking for products that work for me. After I ran out of my Etude House Moistfull Collagen Emulsion (which is also good, btw!) I didn't want to place a Gmarket order just for that, so I went to the nearest Watson's and started looking for a new emulsion. The sales girl recommended me Inoherb's Lilium Essential Hydrating Moistuizer (相宜本草 百合高保温润养水). At first I wasn't too sure about it, because it was a bit on the pricier side for me and I had no idea about the ingredients since they were all in Chinese, but I just went with it and I do not regret.
It costs around 80 CNY, which is around 10€, not really expensive, but I'm living on a tight budget here, okay! ;)
I usually put it on in the morning and in the evening, right after I wash my face. The instructions say to put an appropriate amount of product onto a cotton pad and gently swipe it all over you face, wait for it to be fully absorbed and continue using other products.
Because of reasons, mostly me being lazy, I don't use a cotton pad but just apply it using my hands. The product itself is quite thin and not completely transparent. Just by itself it doesn't feel not really hydrating, and my face still feels tight, but during the day the difference is more than apparent.
In the beginning I only used this combined with my day cream, but as the winter was nearing, I left for my nearest Watson's once more. But more about that in the next post, going through the ingredients list sure is a lot of work :)

Honestly speaking, I wouldn't have bought the product had I know it contains parabens, but what is done is done, I'm almost done with this product by now, so I'll just use it up. By the way, parabens in Chinese are 羟苯甲酯 (methyl), 羟苯乙酯 (ethyl), 羟苯丙酯 (propyl) and 羟苯丁酯 (butyl). Now I know for next time! :)In the beginning I only used this combined with my day cream, but as the winter was nearing, I left for my nearest Watson's once more. But more about that in the next post, going through the ingredients list sure is a lot of work :)
I think my last post was about a year ago, if not even more, time flies....
anyway, one of the reasons I started this blog was to keep my English from completely going down the drain, the other, to write about stuff, whether was it cosmetics or just whatever. I obviously failed :D But I do wish this time I can continue updating more often on stuff I got that maybe not many bloggers posted about or the info on whatever I find interesting in anyway :)
Quick update, school was the one that kept me from blogging as much as I would like, but on the other side, thanks to the good impression I made on my teachers, they suggested I should be one of the 4 students from our uni that gets a really good scholarship to study in China for a year. So here I am, in Beijing...studying my a** off, but at least I have more free time that back at home I guess :)
So one of the first questions I asked myself after I got here was, what happens when I run out of the products I brought with myself, and how do I get through the dry winter here? Well the next post is going to be about this, which product did it for me (in case someone, who's not too familiar with Chinese beauty brands, just like me, stumbles across this post :) ).
